About STORM

STORM is located in a beautiful spot in the centre of Amsterdam. We specialise in Visual Effects, Color Grading, Editing, and Motion Design. STORM is an informal company where creativity plays a key role. Our team consists of 25 permanent colleagues, and we collaborate with many dedicated freelancers. Who are we looking for?

We are seeking a skilled and experienced Nuke senior artist to join our team. You will play a crucial role in overseeing shots and sequences ensuring the seamless integration of CGI elements, and maintaining the highest standards of quality throughout the VFX production.

Together with two supervisors you will provide creative and technical leadership to the VFX team, guiding them through all stages of production from pre-visualization to final delivery.

 

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate closely with team members and producers.
  • Supervise on-set VFX shoots, ensuring proper integration of practical and digital elements.
  • Conduct regular reviews and feedback sessions to ensure that all visual effects meet the established quality standards and deadlines.
  • Stay updated on industry trends and emerging technologies to enhance our capabilities and workflows.
  • Communicate effectively with directors, producers, and other key stakeholders to understand project requirements and artistic vision.

 

Skills

  • At least 5+ years experience in Nuke compositing.
  • Experience in leading and training junior- to mid-level compositors. 
  • Strong understanding of cinematography, composition, lighting and colour science.
  • Ability to excel under pressure to meet deadlines, and with minimal supervision. 
  • Strong communication and leadership skills, with the ability to collaborate well with cross-functional teams.
  • A creative and collaborative problem solver. Artistic ability to look-dev assets and sets.
  • Excellent people and team-working skills. Confident presenting to clients. 
  • Solid understanding of production pipelines and techniques, with knowledge of current creative trends in visual effects.
  • Knowledge of ShotGrid is required; familiarity with Python and Houdini is a plus
