Ramses

‘Ramses’ follows Ramses Shaffy in his younger years, as well as Joop Admiraal and Liesbeth List, from the early 60’s till the late 70’s. In these years, Ramses becomes the star of Dutch theatre, starts Shaffy Chantant and rises as a national hero. But it’s also the years when alcohol and drugs eventually cause his downfall. It’s the years in which lots of things changed in Amsterdam; the rise of flower power, liberal sex, drugs and a changing moral after the stuffy 1950’s. Premieres January 11th 2014. 

Ramses wins the silver Nipcowschijf and one Golden Calf award during the Award Ceremony of the Netherlands Film Festival; Best Male Actor in a television drama (Maarten Heijmans).
