Sixteen-year-old Anne grows up in the isolated Biesbosch, with its vast fields and utility poles defining the landscape. During a boiling hot summer she and her friends try to make the jump to adulthood. But their collective experience turns into conflict when Anna develops feelings for the tough girl Lena.
